Master's applications
Master's application support for UK and USA universities
Postgraduate applications are a different exercise from undergraduate ones. Admissions committees are assessing a professional and academic trajectory, not potential alone. Coaching covers programme selection, positioning, essays and interviews across both the UK and the USA.

UK and USA
Two systems that reward different applications
Applying to both without adapting the case is the most common and most costly mistake.
United Kingdom
Usually one year and highly specialised. Weighted towards academic record, subject fit and a focused statement that shows command of the field. Decisions often come earlier and depend heavily on the strength of the academic case.
United States
Usually longer and more flexible, with a heavier weighting on the whole profile: essays, references, work experience, leadership and, for some programmes, standardised tests. Career outcomes are assessed explicitly.
Having studied at Cambridge and at Harvard Business School, the guidance here is based on direct experience of both systems rather than second-hand summaries.
International applicants
Positioning an international background
A strong record in one country does not always read as strong in another. Much of this work is translation: making an unfamiliar academic system, grading scale or employer legible to an admissions committee, and making the motivation for studying abroad specific rather than generic.
- Explaining grading systems and academic context
- Framing employers and roles for an unfamiliar audience
- Making the case for studying in the UK or USA
- Aligning career goals with programme strengths
- Preparing for interviews conducted in a different academic culture
Programme
Structured Master's application programme
Applicants working across several universities and both systems usually benefit from a programme rather than isolated sessions.
- Initial diagnostic and goal setting
- University and programme shortlist
- UK and USA application strategy
- Statement of purpose development
- Essay development and review
- CV and résumé positioning
- Interview preparation and mock interviews
- Final application review
