Interviews

Interview preparation grounded in experience

Deep specialises in interview preparation for PPE, Economics, Politics, Philosophy and related social-science subjects. He experienced the Oxford PPE interview process first-hand as an applicant. Although he did not ultimately receive an offer, the experience shaped his understanding of the difference between strong academic credentials and performing effectively in an unfamiliar, highly analytical interview.

Mock interviews

Realistic subject interviews with unfamiliar material, followed by detailed written feedback on reasoning, not just answers.

Thinking aloud

Practice structuring an argument under pressure, handling challenge and revising a position without losing confidence.

Academic positioning

Turn reading and supercurricular work into a coherent intellectual story an interviewer can probe.

Admissions-test requirements can change between application cycles. Applicants should verify current requirements for their chosen course using the relevant university’s official guidance.

Timeline

What a strong Oxbridge year looks like

Applications are decided long before October. The applicants who do best have already read widely, chosen a course honestly and practised thinking aloud.

Spring

Course and college decisions, honest assessment of predicted grades, and a reading plan that reflects genuine interest rather than a list to recite.

Summer

Supercurricular depth, drafting the UCAS application questions, and early admissions-test diagnostics so weaknesses surface with time to fix them.

Autumn

Final application review before the October deadline, then intensive timed admissions-test practice with written feedback after each attempt.

December

Mock interviews on unfamiliar material, handling challenge without losing composure, and revisiting everything submitted in the application.

Honesty

What this coaching will not do

Clear expectations matter more than reassurance in a process with these odds.

  • No guaranteed offers, and no claim to influence any admissions decision
  • No writing of the application on the applicant’s behalf
  • No coaching in Maths, Natural Sciences, Medicine or Engineering interviews
  • No inside knowledge of college-level preferences or quotas

Testimonials

What clients say

Both interviews were tough and included several unexpected, ‘curve ball’ questions. She commented that the preparation you both did together was very helpful.
