The three components

What TARA assesses

Critical Thinking

Practise identifying conclusions, assumptions, flaws, principles and logical relationships within arguments.

Problem Solving

Develop structured approaches to quantitative, spatial and analytical problems under timed conditions.

Writing Task

Learn to form a clear position, organise an argument and communicate reasoning concisely.

TARA is not primarily a subject-knowledge examination. Preparation focuses on reasoning method, accuracy and timing. TARA replaces the previous TSA. Older TSA material may be used only where educationally relevant and clearly identified as relating to the previous test.
